IMG_2309After David had finished talking with Saul, Jonathan became one in spirit with David, and he loved him as himself. I Samuel 18:1 NIV

On  Thanksgiving Day, November 26th, 1987 Pam miscarried our first child at about 3 months into the pregnancy. As most couples are, we were devastated and consumed with all of the questions of doubt about future child bearing. So many ladies came to Pam to console her with their own private stories of pain. We had been married 9 months.

When God blessed us with twins on March 22nd, 1989, we were overjoyed. We did not name them immediately (like when they came out), so the nurse named them Baby A and Baby B. Our heart was for these two identical twin boys to be best friends, so we named them David and Jonathan, because of the bond between these two men as described in the Bible.

Some ask which is the oldest? Jonathan was engaged in the birth canal to be born first, but Pam had to have a C-section, so David was 2 minutes ahead of Jonathan.  Being identical twins…I say they were both formed at the same time when the egg split.

So, why did I tell you all of this information today? It’s their 30th birthday and God has been faithful to allow them to enjoy the closest bond imaginable. As followers of Jesus, their love is multiplied in genuine care. They competitively love one another from the heart.

Possibly, God gave you a spouse that joins your heart in the warmth of love. This is the Lord’s doing to share genuine love that is reciprocated with another person. Jesus loves us this way…but we get to experience it with others also.

Happy Birthday, David and Jonathan.   PS Gotta ask Pam to tell you which baby is on L-R in the photo.

Blessings Love y’all
