The Gospel Without Fear
A Poem in Philippians
And because of my chains, most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord and dare all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear. Philippians 1:14
Why this grip of fear
It stops me in my track
Can’t seem to get in gear
Action, my faith does lack
Knowing what I should do
It’s simple as you can see
I only need to talk to you
Explaining how to be free
Others have gone before me
They chose not to run and hide
Mockery and ridicule they see
When known to be on God’s side
Bless those in chains for your sake
Their faith is their only crime
Resolve and strength will it make
Peace will come in its time
When does one become so bold
To obey at an cost
As if there life was already sold
To focus on the lost
When I feel so very weak
Your Spirit makes me strong
Courage now, I have to speak
My heart filled with a new song
If I must, I will take the dare
To open my mouth to talk
It’s Jesus, my joy to share
His path, I’m free to walk
