hiding from GodWho can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?” declares the Lord.

“Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the Lord. Jeremiah 23:24 NIV

I took one of my grandsons to the park recently. We had fun stretching his abilities on the fireman’s pole and the rock wall. I went to the end of the long tube of the circular slide and poked my head in the hole. “Davis, where are you? Davis, where are you?” He knew the game and went to the top entrance. “Here I am Pappy. I’m right here!”

Why do you hide?

Adam hid because of fear. He and Eve had violated God’s command with the resulting fear of judgment. When approval matters, we want to hide our imperfections. When the heart becomes seared because of continual sin and deception, some no longer hide. Do you still have a sensitivity towards God’s judgment? God’s love finds your hiding place

Some hide, because they don’t believe that they can be seen performing the wrong action. In John’s gospel, he records that men love the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds are evil. The cookie is always taken from the jar, when the parents leave the room. Do you have a secret sin, that you participate in because you think “your way” is hidden? Jesus knows your hiding place, his cross stretches that far.

Some hide, because they perceive themselves as invisible. They don’t think that their life really matters to God. This is especially true before becoming one of His children. That’s part of the good news. Each person’s life is important to God.

This nagging thought of invisibility continues to hound followers of Christ. It is a tool of the enemy to create isolation. We feel buried in our pile of problems. “If God can see me, then where is He?” Like crying out from the end of a long tube we say, “God where are You?” When we listen closely, we will hear the Holy Spirit reply, “I am right here.”  The Holy Spirit’s presence is a seal for you. His imprint upon your heart pounds with each beat, “Child, You are mine and I am here.” There is a source of strength by remaining connected to the Holy Spirit.

Nothing is ever hidden before God’s sight. He sees you and He still loves you!

Blessings Love Y’all
