I recently went to the gulf beach to help remodel a condo with my son. I went swimming in the ocean once and thought of a recent shark attack in the northeast. This of course kept my swim closer to the beachside. Then I focused on the waves constantly coming toward the shore. I thought of Peter sinking while standing beside Jesus. I sang an impromptu song, “Jesus, I want to walk on the waves with you, for where you are is where I want to be.”

Waves, like trouble, can constantly disrupt  your life. Even Jesus informed us that in this world you will have trouble, so He offered us peace. This peace is present before the trouble, during the trouble and after the trouble. It is a sure foundation.

Why does the Psalmist have no fear of bad news? His heart is centered in the God of today and tomorrow. You may be walking through some bad stuff right now. You may feel all alone. You may see nothing but darkness in your future. You may be having trouble stopping the constant battering of wearisome thoughts bombarding your mind. Cancer, divorce, diabetes, COVID19. The waves are relentless and there seems to be no help in sight.

In reality…seriously…Jesus is still standing right beside you to help you and lift you up. His presence changes the end result of bad news and a bleak outlook on tomorrow. His promise to never leave you nor forsake you, walks you above the waves into tomorrow.

You may still have some very rough steps to take in your tomorrow. But let your heart take strength in the knowledge that God is already orchestrating the events and the courage you need to face your tomorrow. Our overcoming takes us into eternity with Him.

Take Jesus’ hand and walk on the waves of your troubles. Let your fears rest securely on His heart of love, provision and strength toward you. Call for help and look up, He is right beside you, walking you into your tomorrow of His goodness for His children.

Blessings Love y’all.
