The LORD is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth. He grants the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cries for help and rescues them. Psalms 145:18-19 NLT
Take a breath! I am closer to you than the air you breathe. I have promised to never leave you nor forsake you. I long to hear your voice. More than hearing the sound of rambling, I listen for you to call to Me. As a mother is attentive to the cry of her child, she can distinguish that voice in the middle of a large crowd. I too, hear My children in the middle of their chaos and clutter.
At times I may seem slow to answer your needs, for I am waiting for you to ask. You can hide your intentions and reason for doing things from other people, but I know what you were really thinking and feeling. When you talk with Me, I know the hidden pride, fear, insecurities, and pain that has brought you to the place of your distress. Nothing is hidden before My eyes.
Crying out to Me is so very important for you. A cry of desperation comes from deep within your spirit. It resonates with your true need for dependency and humility. You express your helplessness and inadequacy to bring about an answer. It frightens you to know that you are not in control of what is happening.
Do not fear! When you cry out, you are able to feel our connection once again. I never left you, not for one moment. Like a baby taking its first breath, I hold you close to My heart at that moment. Crying out and connecting with Me goes together.
Don’t be embarrassed. Don’t downgrade yourself because you think failure reflects your worth. Look at Me. Only love for you is found in the reflection of My eyes. Remember this, I hear you cry and I am able to rescue you in a moment. My plans are always good and effective in your life.
I wait. I am patient. I am listening for you to call, yes even to cry out to me. Then My peace that surpasses your understanding will envelop you. I am ready to move on your behalf, please cry out to Me.
Whispers from your Father, God.
Can’t tell you how timely this ws for me – thanks Pastor Greg!
Praise the Lord that we can come to His throne of grace and “cry out” at any time, at any place, knowing He hears us and answers our prayers. Thanks for the reminder!
