18 When Simon saw that the Spirit was given at the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money 19 and said, “Give me also this ability so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.” 20 Peter answered: “May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money! No Spirit, No Power. The receiving and role of the Holy Spirit in a Christian’s life is one of the most controversial subjects in church history. Why? It’s just that critical to the life of the church. The Holy Spirit leads and guides EVERY aspect for Christians to be the hands and feet of Jesus to work together and to love others. No one can be saved unless the Holy Spirit is involved. Yet, Jesus told his disciples to wait for the promise of power that comes with the Holy Spirit. There is no magic formula to receive the Spirit as Peter told Simon, BUT the most common impartation occurs through prayer and laying on of hands (although God is not limited to this method). Many Christians are living subpar because they are not filled and full of the Spirit’s life. If you consider yourself full of the Spirit, please consider praying for others to receive the fullness of His presence, with the laying on of hands . His influence is THE KEY to boldness to witness, freedom from sin, bearing good fruit and godly character and operating in your spiritual gifts.
Blessings. Love y’all.
