Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. Luke 8:12 NIV
Hard hearts continued…Jesus explains the parable of the sower to his disciples. The seed is the word of God and the sower is the Father. Jesus declares that the devil steals away the word from their hearts…how?
First, it is important to remember the “home” for the seed of God’s word is the heart…not the mind. Yes, the mind has to receive the word through hearing or reading it. But it’s resting place for impact is the heart. Proverbs says all of life’s issues flow from the heart.
In order for a seed to have it’s impact, it has to be left to work undisturbed in the ground. So also the most vulnerable moment for a lost person is right after hearing the Word.
We need to be sensitive to our conversations after church, God’s word is working. We need to insert God’s word into our daily speech, for It has power to change others. We need to pray that the devil’s plans are thwarted, our prayers have authority. We need to pray for the break through of faith in believing which starts in hope like this, “maybe God can or will do this for me.” Let hope arise. Blessings Love y’all.
