Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Philippians 2:14-15a NIV
It’s my right to argue
You can listen to me grumble
Complain all that I want to
Or grit my teeth and mumble
Don’t shush me quiet
I can be sarcastic to one or all
My sour thoughts spew forth
Damaging wherever they fall
I’m a product of this world
Junk just has to be shared
So crooked we treat each other
Proving, none really cared
God’s life makes a difference
Words matter, so He said
Commanded to speak blessing
Keep ill words inside your head
Don’t try to justify
Or drum up a good excuse
Bring your tongue under control
Unbefitting to let it now run loose
Without fault is the standard
Seek to be free of blame
Act like one of God’s children
Choose words that honor His name
You are always on the clock
Not one word should ever be idle
Speak right on all occasions
Let gratefulness be your bridle
