Do this, then, my son, and free yourself, for you have put yourself in your neighbor’s power: Go, humble yourself, and plead with your neighbor. Proverbs 6:3 CSB
Danger was not on the horizon
The haze didn’t seem so thick
Debt can’t be really that bad
Held at bay with a fragile stick
Cosign on the line, he said
It’s just a formality of sorts
Run your credit one more time
Settle it outside of the courts
Where are the dads and moms
Speaking the truth without fear
Are they too burdened themselves
Bondage accumulating for years
Where’s the sense of urgency
To flee, get out of the trap
Anyone feel the suffocation
Any hope to get out of this crap
Move, start, do something, go
Don’t remain where you’ve been
Make the call, send the letter
The time is now, not when
Humble yourself, swallow your pride
Seek to become free at last
Keep asking and then ask again
Surety, twill soon be a thing in your past
It takes faith to follow God’s ways
Our problem is not of His making
Trust that His way is just and right
Tis His road we’ll be taking
