For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God. 2 Corinthians 14:5 ESV
From the bottom of my heart, I wish to say thank you for the encouragements each of you have given regarding the blessings you have received from my writings of Pastor Greg Online.
For those of you in America we have celebrated a holiday known as Thanksgiving Day. Like Joseph in the Bible God used the enslavers of a young Indian brave to later help the Pilgrims.
Young Squanto was taken to Spain and sold…to some monks. They shared the good news of Jesus’ love for all people. They were commited to helping Squanto return back to America. They knew he needed to be in England. They found a family who would help. He stayed with the family for five years before they found a ship for him to travel back.
When he arrived at his home village, none of his relatives where alive. They had all died from a sickness. He moved away to another Indian tribe.
One day one of his friends told him to come to a tattered group of white people from across the ocean. Squanto recognized the people were speaking words English. He began talking and found out many had died their first winter
Squanto decided to stay and help them farm and catch lobsters. At harvest time the Pilgrims had a feast to give thanks to God for the provisions and helping them to survive. The invited their Indian friends who also brought much food to the feasts. They celebrated America’s first Thanksgiving to God for His favor, blessing and provision.
Thanksgiving finds a way to express itself. Looking for God’s grace and seeing His grace and experiencing His grace yields itself to giving of thanks.
Where have you seen God’s grace over the past year? Even in loss God is still active. His abiding presence in your sorry is a place of thanks. Your smile of joy is for you and others. Your patient ensuring strengthens others to continue on. Your peace comforts all those who come in contact. Give thanks to the Lord for He is good.
May God bless you abundantly
Blessings love y’all
