But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, Galatians 4:4 ESV

Two years ago, I made up a song on the bus for the kids. Before leaving the bus that day, I made a quick recording on my I- phone to remember the tune. I offer to you the audio version and a link to the video captured on my youtube recordings. These have very little editing, but they are vintage Jimbob and Wally excited about waiting. Jimbob and one week til Christmas

One Week till Christmas

The Advent season reminds us of the time when the Jewish people were awaiting the arrival of the prophesied Messiah. Jesus came. Paul states that He arrived when the fullness of time had come. Jesus came to earth at the exact moment for God’s plan for the world to unfold for the salvation of all..

Jesus told his followers that He would return again. No one knows the time or date, but the Heavenly Father knows. Jesus told us to be ready and waiting for His second coming. I believe that time is drawing near. Jesus said most of the world will not be ready for His return.

As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be when the Son of Man returns. How does Jesus describe those days? “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[f] but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Matthew 24:36-39 NIV

While you are waiting, two primary activities need to be integrated into your daily affairs.. First make sure that your relationship with Jesus is intimate enough so that He knows your name. Many will say on that day about all of the things that they did for Jesus. He will respond to some, “Depart from Me, I never knew you.” Making sure that Jesus knows you is the number one priority.

The second activity is fulfilling the great commandment every day. Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, mind and strength and love your neighbor as yourself. Both require you to be active in making these two commandments happen. Too many are spending time on all of the “I’s” in their life. What do I want, When do I want it, and How am I going to get it? The Commandments focus on extending love toward God and others.

Your time will be filled with meaningful and rewarding activities while you are awaiting Jesus’ return. How would your day be scheduled differently if completing the Great Commandments were your first priority to be accomplished? How would you serve your spouse, coworkers, and others with love being the guiding influence?

If you feel aimless in life, seek to love and serve those around you. You will “fill” your time up and long for the return of your savior, that you may be with Him always. Jesus is coming again. We are waiting for the “fullness of time” once again. Today is one week til Christmas 2021. There will be a day when He returns, may He find us waiting well.

Blessings Love y’all
