Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Luke 23:42 NIV
Recently, I officiated a funeral and penned this reflection on memories of loved ones
Reflection on Memories
Memories paint pictures with the caption being, “This is what they were like”.
Memories of a loved one are the rays of sunshine which bring smiles to our face and hearts.
Memories are the walls which fortify the homes we build in pleasant places.
Memories shared are lifelines connecting past generations to the future ones,
Memories create spotlights highlighting our most treasured moments with the ones we love.
Memories are stored in a vault for safe keeping, yet they find ways to be openly displayed for others to enjoy.
Memories create photo journals with the pages flipping back and forth with fingers pointing and words declaring, “Oh, I Remember this, do you!”
For loved ones who have already passed before you, take a moment right now. Close your eyes and picture how they smiled. Remember the cadence and joy of their laughter. See the twinkle in their eye when they were looking at you. That memory is yours. It is a gift.
Blessings Love y’all

Thank you so much for this!! My dad passed away on October 29th, he would have turned 90 this coming Friday. I do close my eyes and not only see but I can hear his laughter 🥹🙏🏽
So sorry for your loss, Our joy comes when we get to share what they were like…I’m sure he was a good man.
