They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!” Mark 4:41 NIV
The disciples were in a boat with Jesus when the storm came. Afraid they would sink and die they asked Jesus for help…”Don’t you care if we drown?” Jesus spoke to the storm and it became calm. Their revelation of the authority of Jesus came after He spoke.
Somehow we are tempted to think that the presence of the storm means that Jesus does not care. We may say it differently, “Jesus, if you really loved me, then why am I having struggles with my family, finances, health, direction, vehicles or with other people?” We associate the presence of the problem with a lack of care.
The revelation for the disciples was the bigness of God in comparison to their storm. God’s love has no boundaries that it cannot cross. The Holy Spirit is a constant presence in your life like the air that you breathe. The peace of Jesus is tangible in storms. His faithfulness is rooted in His character that never changes, therefore it is more certain than the ground we walk upon. Look for His unchanging character.
May you receive revelation again and again of “who this is” that loves us. His name is Jesus.
Blessings Love y’all
