Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. John 3:20 NIV
Why would someone reject truth? Especially when it has the ability to bring freedom, hope and love? Denying truth causes a hardness that makes almost all logical dialogue ineffective. Many parents have exhausted conversation after conversation with no movement of the son or daughter toward a relationship with Jesus. The child will give many reasons for not taking on the faith of their parents, but the core will come down to denying truth. Why?
Jesus gave the primary answer. The light of truth exposes the darkness within. To acknowledge truth would lead to a new awareness of accountability for actions. Rather than having to give an account for our behavior, speech or thoughts, truth is rejected. The thought would be, “if I can silence the truth, then I am free to live however I desire, with no judge or eternal consequences.”
Truth penetrates beyond our arguments. Truth breaks through the barricades around our fragile and broken self. Truth brings light to our fears hiding behind the facades of “what will people really think of me, if they knew me”.
Become saturated in God’s word – truth. Speak it often in conversations. The Spirit of Truth takes the words you speak and boroughs through the crevices of doubt and uncertainty. May our lost loved ones finally experience the love of Father God, the grace of forgiveness through the sacrifice of Jesus and the breath of hope from the presence of the Spirit.
Blessings Love y’all
Great one.
