But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” 1 Chronicles 15:7 NIV.
Don’t know if I can say this loud enough…HOLD ON! I just have this impression that someone is ready to quit or at least feeling very discouraged. All day I kept hearing the words…HOLD ON!
Elijah defeated the prophets of Baal, then he told King Ahab that rain was coming…but there was NO rain in sight. (1 Kings 18) He climbed a mountain and prayed. Six times he sent his servant to look for rain, there was no sign. On the seventh time, the servant saw a small cloud the size of a fist. Elijah stayed committed to prayer to see his declaration come to pass. What would have happened if he had quit on the fifth disappointing answer?
I am asking God to strengthen your resolve. I am praying that you have a glimmer of hope. I’m praying that God would whisper to your spirit that He is still in control so that you will be encouraged at this very moment. I’m believing that He will help bear your load so that you can take the next step. I’m asking that the cloud of “blah” over you will disappear.
Hold ON! Don’t give up. Don’t give in. Don’t quit. Don’t despair. Don’t dismiss your emotions, but don’t let them lead you either. As fragile as you may feel, keep moving in the right direction. As alone as you may feel, God is closer still.
Rest in His peace and presence.
Blessings. Love y’all.
