demonstrate loveBut God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 NIV

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

Candies, cards, balloons and flowers will be exchanged in abundance today.  At the core of it all will be an effort to show the recipient that they have a special place in the giver’s heart.

Demonstrate means “standing together” referring to facts “lining up” with each other to support something. (HELPS Word Studies). God did not leave it up to our imagination as to whether He loved the world. Rather, He sent his son Jesus as a visible and tangible expression of His love. The facts of the story “line-up” to demonstrate God’s love

God told us He loves us. Jesus came into the world. Jesus loved all people especially the poor and outcast. Jesus died a sacrificial death in our place. Jesus rose again from the dead. He did not leave us alone, but sent the Holy Spirit to be with his followers. The apostle John said that the “beheld His glory”.

Be intentional with your expressions of love today. Speak it often in different ways. Be creative and give tangible expressions toward those you love. Think of a series of activities to allow the “facts of your love” to become abundantly clear.

Also, Jesus showed love toward sinners. If we are to follow in his footsteps, why not choose a “difficult” person in your life, and then find a way to show meaningful kindness to them. You don’t have to be secretive, the goal is to let them know that they are someone worthy of love.

This special day gives you a lot of freedom to practice being loving.

Blessings. Love y’all
