This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God. Genesis 6:9 NIV
The word “blameless” is also translated as perfect, without blemish or defect. It is used to describe the quality and character of the animal used for sacrifice. Of the one year old animals, they were to find the one that was the best example of the pattern for sheep, goat, etc.
Our goal is not to try to be better than anyone else, rather we seek to please the Lord, always. But the fruit of following after God, should produce some of the best citizens in our cities and communities. We don’t put on airs or try to impress people with our righteousness so that they will also follow God. Rather, with God’s grace, we live in communion with God’s Spirit of love and life, and avoid carrying out the deeds of the flesh.
This generation…right NOW…needs you and I. As salt and light we are needed to bring God’s influence into this dark and dying world. May God sprinkle you as salt to all of those who need to taste the hope of Jesus for life everlasting. May your words bring the light of hope into their dark situations.
Don’t throw your hands up in despair. Don’t give in to the web of frutstration of ineffectiveness. Don’t allow cynicism that the church is failing to cloud your view about God’s stirring in the hearts of people.
Noah’s name means rest. Let us be “Noah” messengers to this generation in which we live, that helps others enter into the “rest” of God. If it is not us, then who will reach this generation?
Blessings Love y’all
