dad son walkThis is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God. Genesis 6:9 NIV

My older brother is 6’4″  inches tall. Being smaller it was always a challenge for me to keep up with him. It felt like I had to take two steps to his one. He also liked to walk fast while I liked to meander. I literally had to concentrate to stay in rhythm with him. I did it though, because I wanted to be with him.

How would you describe what it means to walk with God personally? If it is more than having a devotional time, then what else would you include? How would your concept of prayer change if you were maintaining constant dialogue with God?

Name three distractions that would lead you away from walking closely with God.  Are you able to identify the small steps of temptation that begin the journey of straying away from God? Think about the times when you chose correctly to follow Jesus, what was different?

Figuratively walking with God is a consistent theme throughout the Bible. Enoch walked with God – Genesis 5. Blessed are those who do not walk with the ungodly – Psalm 1.  Walk in the Spirit – Galatians 5. A host of conversation took place as Jesus walked with his disciples.

Jesus knows the pace and distance between steps to help you keep up. He loves your efforts to just “be with Him”.

Blessings, love y’all.
