Pam and I arrived safely in Seoul. We are having coffee at the airport and then off for our anniversary activities. its 8:00 am on the 28th here.

If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” Luke 11:13 NIV

I am not sure what caused the distraction. Perhaps it was the tv or just sunday afternoon fatigue, but I didn’t hear the timer go off. However, it was only a few minutes later when I recognized the smell of my mistake. Burnt cookies. Now, all is not lost, I am the only one in my family that actually likes burnt cookies, which means more cookies for me.

The important part of the story is the way that smells both good and bad find a way to “fill” a house. The verse today is connected to yesterday’s verse in Matthew. The variation is that Matthew records The Father giving “good gifts” while Luke states that the Father will give the Holy Spirit.

I know that the plain meaning refers to the generosity of the Father to give.

When we ask for the Spirit, was Jesus intention being a one time ask? Would a one time impartation be consistent with the “much more” heart of our father?

Just maybe Father is expecting us to keep on asking- being continually filled- for the presence of the Holy Spirit to fill us. The Spirit really does desire to fill every sphere that we live and walk in.

Please invite Him to fill you with the sweet aroma of Jesus so others can smell Him too.

Blessings. Love y’all.
