He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me. Psalm 18:19 NIV
How often do you need rescue? How do you measure the intensity of events in your life that indicate to you that it is time that you think that I should get involved? You probably have an answer to that last question, but its premise is entirely wrong. I am always engaged in all the affairs of your life.
I really love my you, my child. I am talking with you even before the trouble arrives. I am listening with you when you hear the disturbing news. I am breathing with you when the weight of your problem lies heavy upon your chest. I am keeping rhythm with your heart when it aches over those you love.
I am also the one who gives you strength to endure. Part of my rescue is to transform your negative situation into a stepping stone from which you can see life a little better from my perspective. I do not like to see you suffer. But I am helping to strengthen you even in the hardest of situations.
I know you feel hemmed in. Your life struggles are a culmination of poor decisions and bad things that have happened to you. Let me lift you up to truly see how spacious are your options. You can choose joy in the middle of your mess. You can worship when others hear no music. You can give thanks while looking in the face of complaining.
Within my heart is a warmth of delight for you. I love you and will always be here to help in your time of need.
