You are God my stronghold. Why have you rejected me? Why must I go about mourning, oppressed by the enemy? Psalms 43:2 NIV
Faith in My unseen protection is really hard to grasp. You understand it in “theory”, but there is a strong desire to be able to see it, touch it, or feel it. Although My stronghold for you is true, you may be tempted to think that I have stepped back for a little while. You may think I am too busy to care for your needs.
When Elisha’s servant was afraid, I opened his eyes to see My vast army that was keeping them both safe. He was comforted because he physically saw the protection of My army, but how do you feel comforted when you cannot see?
HOPE. I use the scriptures to establish these anchors within your soul. Perhaps, it would make sense for you to think of these anchors as tent pegs driven deep down in the reality of My promises. When the tough times come, secure your lifeline to one of these anchors.
Let Hope stop the swirling thoughts of all of the “what if’s”. Let Hope become the firm foundation when life is unstable in all of its ways. Let Hope in My promises become a fixed point on your horizon to keep you moving forward in the right direction. Let Hope allow you to stand on solid ground away from the muck and mire. Let Hope anchor you in my unchanging ways. Hope found in Me, will never disappoint you.
I know that your concerns are real and it looks like there are limited options. When you are backed into a corner and life’s alternatives look very bleak, lean back just a little more and you will sense My arms behind you. I am aware of your anger, your injustice, your enemies, and your need for help. I am here.
