Listen to my prayer, O God, do not ignore my plea; hear me and answer me. My thoughts trouble me and I am distraught... Psalm 55:1-2 NIV
I understand the frustration of being ignored. When you speak, there is a desire to be acknowledged. There is an expectation that your words matter. There is hunger for a response that will let you know that your thoughts are meaningful. I have asked you to sit with me for a while and talk, you remain silent.
I am not fickle so as to respond in silence in the way that you might treat another. I am not playing hide and seek with your pain and inquiries. I am not offended and quick to turn a cold shoulder when you are overwhelmed and crying out to me. I hear you.
The breath that forms the words from your lips are from Me. I am holding your thoughts while they are still formulating in your brain. Even the anger and unforgiveness that barricades within your mind are open and laid bare before Me. I am undaunted by your fears, insecurities, frailties, busyness, and worries. I hear you.
I have made every provision for your next steps. Receive My peace for your troubled soul. Let My love blanket your heart so that you really, really know that you always matter to Me. When I don’t change the circumstances, I strengthen your rear and front guard and draw you even closer to Myself. From the depths of the place in your life of feeling hemmed in and without choices, I hear you.
Don’t be afraid to trust My answer. My sheep hear My voice when I speak and come to Me. The shadow may look dark, but it is cast by the light that I am providing. I will give wisdom to your next steps. Cry out and pray to Me. I will speak to your spirit of My love and promises to you. For I am a good Father who is attentive to your cries. Your pain matters to Me because My Son endured the full depths of your fears and thoughts of rejection. My child, I am listening, I hear you.
