This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. Romans 13:11 NLT

People are dying! There is much focus on the reasons, COVID19, driving accidents, cancer, heart attacks, overdose, addictions and suicide. There is a much darker sickness that every single person is affected with that has implications beyond the grave. The denial of this sickness does not negate its presence. We see injustice and try to legislate and educate its eradication. But deep down we realize that evil is present within each of us. Even our pride draws the comparison that my wrongs are not as bad as others, yet we acknowledge that wrong does exists within ourselves at the most basic level.

Saint Paul wrote of this dilemma, “Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death?” Romans 7:24. Jesus has the ONLY cure for sin. There is no other way to eradicate this stench of our soul besides the Lord Jesus Christ. Those who are followers of Jesus have the knowledge and experience of the cure for presence of sin. We carry this message of good news that we can be free through Jesus’ life, death, burial, and resurrection.

I know that I am sounding a little urgent which has a different feel than my usual post. It’s just that I think we are afraid of one thing -fear of dying physically- when the real sickness of spiritual death remains silent. Church WAKE UP! What is the message we are trying to communicate? What and Where are we spending the majority of our time, efforts, and money? What consumes our daily activities?

Death for those who love Jesus is still very sad, but it has hope because of eternal life with Jesus in heaven. Death, for those who are lost because of sin and have no relationship with Jesus, is eternal permanent separation from God. This separation includes all of His love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control. Death for those without Christ is eternally devastating.

We become passionate about those things that we think and pray about! I am enclosing a call to prayer for Colleges in America. At the end of this section is a 40 day prayer guide leading up to the Collegiate Day of Prayer on February 25th, 2021. Feel free to download this pdf and begin praying today as the 40 days starts today. I know that your faith will be encouraged through the personal stories.

NOTICE the phrase in the middle, “Is our level of prayer matching the level of the need of the hour?” Use the prayer guide to spur you in the right direction of God’s heart. He is still interested and passionate about seeking and saving those who are lost.

Collegiate Day of Prayer is a united, multi-generational, national day of prayer for college campuses on the last Thursday in February.  As we approach Collegiate Day of Prayer 2021, we want to invite you, your family, your church and your ministry to participate in the upcoming 40-day season of prayer and fasting leading up to the Collegiate Day of Prayer from Jan 17th to Feb 25th.

Years ago, a pastor asked a provoking question to a room full of praying believers: “Is our level of prayer matching the level of the need of the hour?” As we reflected on 2 Chronicles 7:14, we then began to ask ourselves: “Not only with prayer, but is our level of humility, our level of seeking, our level of repentance…matching the need of the hour?”

The times we are living in are unprecedented — they call for an unprecedented depth of response.  It is no longer the hour for half-hearted measures!  More than a day, will we give Him our hearts?  Even more than a prayer, will we offer Him our lives?  Will we return to Him wholeheartedly – in repentance, surrender and obedience?

As a way of facilitating a deeper, united heart response before the Lord, we’ve compiled a 40-Day Prayer Guide with daily devotionals and prayer responses – written by pastors and leaders from across our nation.

It is available in several ways:   Download CDOP 40-Day Prayer Guide (PDF)
Order printed 40-Day Prayer Guide (coming soon)

We hope you’ll join us over these next 40 days, as we believe and prepare the way of the Lord for another great awakening on the college campuses of our nation!
