Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” John 13:35 NLT
Let’s give it a whirl and let Saturday’s be story telling time with the Adventures of Jimbob Rabbit and Wally Raccoon. Some of these children’s stories with grown up messages were recorded live while working on Moody Radio, while others will be fresh. Since tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, I offer this episode of She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not.
Speaking of love, the Bible has one of the best descriptions of what true love looks like in practice. In marriage counseling, Pam and I would encourage couples to take this following passage and insert their own name and read it aloud. It sounds strange speaking. “Greg’s love is…”, but it brings a level of accountability when you do it this way. Or, you could turn to your spouse and say this slow and meaningfully, “My love for you is..” Here is 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NLT personalized as an example.
My Love for you is patient and kind. My Love for you is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. My Love for you does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and My Love for you keeps no record of being wronged. (forgives again and again). My Love for you does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. My Love for you never gives up, never loses faith, My Love for you is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NLT (My Love for you inserted)
When your words and actions of love, walk hand in hand together. peace resides near the fireplace of your heart.
As one of the fruits of the Spirit, Paul states that there is no law against showing love. Jesus’ life revealed that love includes sacrifice and serving others. May God pour out His love for you so that you are filled up and overflowing with it. Tis the season of love.
Blessings Love y’all
