Hear me, Lord, and answer me, for I am poor and needy. Guard my life, for I am faithful to you; save your servant who trusts in you. You are my God; Psalm 86:1-2 NIV

Many think they are rich when in reality they are poor. Others think they are clothed but their rags barely cover their nakedness. Still others claim to be wise, but their arrogance and pride blinds them of their true needs. You fully realize you are poor and needy when you have no capabilities to pull yourself out of your mess.

To be in need is to realize your frailty. From birth, others care for your most basic needs for life. You couldn’t survive without them. Love, sacrifice, and connectedness of proper food satisfies the longings in your heart and body. Connectedness to meet the needs of your frailty exists for your whole entire life.

Why spend money on food that doesn’t satisfy? Why spend effort on things that cannot warm your heart? Why place your trust on temporal buildings that have zero eternal value? Why do you stay troubled, worried and downcast in your soul, when I offer My Son to be connected with you?

I am the fulfillment of your need for life and joy everlasting. As My child, you have access to the richest of blessings and life forevermore. No good thing do I withhold from those who walk with Me. Though some may see you as financially poor, you have inherited the kingdom of heaven.

Recognize that I am with you. When Dad is on the scene everything changes. When you sense My abiding presence, you are experiencing the aroma of heaven itself. When hope starts to fill your heart, your eyes are washed with the possibilities of life. When you hear the whisper of My voice, you are encountering the mystery that I AM.

I sit with those who are broken, poor and needy. I draw close to those without hope. The cries of those in despair are beside Me. The tragedies of life sit underneath the cross of My Son, Jesus. Come My child and sit with Me for a while today. Let Me tell you of My love for you one more time.
