Don’t act out of selfish ambition or be conceited. Instead, humbly think of others as being better than yourselves. Don’t be concerned only about your own interests, but also be concerned about the interests of others. Have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Philippians 2:3-5 GWT

Todays’ Audio Blog Jimbob the Loud Mouth

Jimbob has a hard time dealing with a new kid who, in reality, is a whole lot like Jimbob. Sometimes, the speck in one’s eye is a smaller version of one’s own unique log.

  • A quiet person thinks another quiet person is unfriendly
  • A loud person thinks another loud person is obnoxious
  • A greedy person doesn’t like another greedy person
  • A complainer definitely doesn’t like to be in the company of another complainer

Observation

  • Jesus said judge not lest you be judged in the same manner
  • Sooo…who do you judge? AND what do you not like about them?
  • Ask a friend if you have some of those same tendencies? Has to be a real friend…if you are bold enough, you can ask the Holy Spirit.
  • Ask forgiveness for judging the other person.
  • Ask for renewed humility in considering others as more important than yourself.

Paul says that we should no longer regard anyone according to the flesh. We look at them from Jesus’ perspective. If He loves them, we should too. Love will change the way you think about them and how you will act toward them.

I hope you enjoyed Jimbob’s predicament and resolution in today’s story.  He is a lot like us…let’s give him some grace.

Blessings Love y’all
