Jesus replied to them, “My Father is working right now, and so am I.” John 5:17 GOD’S WORD® Translation
One of the most precious promises that we receive from God is the promise of His presence in our here and now. Jesus said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”. He gave an illustration of this closeness through the branches abiding in the vine. The branches draw all of their life support from the connection to the vine. As you are walking through your 21 days of fasting, may you be encouraged by the “EVEN NOW”.
In this passage in John, Jesus tells the men that God the Father is working. Henry Blackaby captured this concept beautifully in his study, Experiencing God. The greek includes the adverb “now” at the end of the phrase of God is working. Here is the HELP’s Study entry 737 árti (an adverb) – now (this instant); here-and-now; exactly now, in the immediate present.
I bless you with “NOW” presence of God’s work in your life. God is with you NOW, when you sleep, when you work, when you are not thinking about HIm, when you are discouraged, when you are frustrated, when you get angry with other people, when you are engaged in loving others, when you have just said something vile, when you are speaking encouragement, when you are confused, when life doesn’t make sense, when there is no understanding, when life feels like it has fallen apart, when there’s a death of a loved one, when there is the birth of a newborn, when you feel spiritual and when you want to give up…God is with you, working EVEN NOW.
Anticipate God’s abiding presence through the Holy Spirit. He is with you NOW…all day long, at every moment, with every breath and every heartbeat. And He will be in your NOW later today when you have other stuff that you are facing. OH, thank God for HIs abiding presence and continued working in our lives to finish the good that He has started in us. We can’t say it enough, “Thank you, God for your abiding presence in our NOW.”
May you be blessed with the awareness of the working and presence of God, EVEN NOW!
Blessings Love y’all
Great encouragement Pastor Greg. Blessings!
