have-mercy-on-me-O-God-christian-wallpaper_1366x768Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me,

for in you I take refuge.

I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings

    until the disaster has passed.

Psalm 57:1 NIV

Disaster, trials, and troubles can cause great turbulence for your emotions. They are like an unseen enemy lurking in your future waiting for an opportune time to attack. Some problems are from your own undoing and some are from the presence of evil in this world. My mercy is greater still.

My mercy is with you from first to last. I am not playing any type of game that includes an attack and then a counter attack. To you it may seem that you are being beat up and then looking for help. My mercy starts at your triumphant end and lays down on the path to where you are now standing. No weapon formed against you ever catches Me by surprise.

My mercy is always fully present. It is not stuck in heaven awaiting an opportunity to go and find you. Rather, it is like a fog that settles in and surrounds you. Without realizing it, you are drenched one droplet at a time. In humility receive.

My mercy is available to all. I am near to the brokenhearted and destitute. I walk with the helpless and overwhelmed. I sit with those who are bent over grief. I lie down with those whose pillows are wet with tears. I remain behind the bars of those who are captive waiting to be free from their bondage.

My mercy also extends to your enemy. His ruthlessness and vileness is equal to your own unholiness before you encountered My Son. Stop judging him and release My mercy in his direction. Forgive him as I have forgiven you. This is mercy in action. This is My mercy flowing through you so that others can experience what you have enjoyed.

Find comfort My child under the wings of My protection and mercy. I see you struggle with the “what’s gonna happen to me” as you endure illness, fears and an unknown future. I am and always will be with you My child.
