For this is what the high and exalted One says—
he who lives forever, whose name is holy:
“I live in a high and holy place,
but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit,
to revive the spirit of the lowly
and to revive the heart of the contrite.. Isaiah 57:15 NIV

King David wanted to build Me a temple which Solomon built. I have never been confined to just one place even though I allowed My glory to settle there. For what could man build that would fully match My honor? Yet, I still blessed the work of their hands in Solomon’s temple.

Some think of Me as too holy to get entangled with the affairs of mankind. Some think I am too detached to walk shoulder to shoulder with you. Some think My throne is in a high and lofty place so that I am unable to relate to a poorly insulated, cold, dirty, dwelling place. My Son was born in a stable, walked dusty roads, slept outside, was friends with commoners and tax collectors, and got hungry and cold. I can relate.

I built a temple not made with human hands. Within your body is a temple that has the ability to let My Spirit abide. I am Holy so it has to be cleaned up from its defilement of sin. My Son’s blood and sacrifice provides the cleansing and purification necessary for My holiness to dwell within. Your body was created to be a Temple, a place of holy dwelling for My Spirit.

I revive those who feel less worthy. I speak to those who are broken and contrite. I sit with those who think that they are too messed up and place My arm around them. I am comfortable among the humble. I feed the hungry with good things. For those who are thirsty, I have living water. I pursue you who think that you are lost and undone.

It is you that I desire to dwell with. Open wide your heart and let Me abide forever. Where you go, I will go, for I will be within you. Where you stay I will stay, for we will sleep together. When you feel lonely and afraid, listen for I am speaking words of comfort. My whisper of love will always be present, for I am your ever present Father.
