That the generation to come might know them,
The children who would be born,
That they may arise and declare them to their children,

That they may set their hope in God,
And not forget the works of God,
But keep His commandments; Psalm 78:6-7 NIV

Speaking is one of My first actions when I created this world in which you live.” “Let there be” and “it was good” create the beginning of the story of our interaction together. I give you the privilege and responsibility to let others know how much I love them and provide for them. Remembering what I have said is part of the ongoing challenge, but failing to experience Me is far greater.

When I instructed Moses to “Hear O Israel”, I was relaying a pattern for My truths to be transferred from generation to generation. Children need to hear and be reminded how I have engaged in the affairs of mankind from the beginning.  When your heart has been transformed by the story, the retelling swoops the listener into an eye witness account.

This is especially true for those who have encountered My Son, Jesus. His life leaps across the span of time and space  to engage heart to heart. Those who have placed their trust in Him,  share His present reality in their lives. “Once I was broken and messed up, then I met Jesus and He saved me.”

The best story tellers take what they have seen and heard and move it into what they have experienced and know.. Many have “heard” about Me, fewer really know Me and My ways. If you seek Me, the author of the story, you will find Me. I will not remain silent. Even now, I am at the door of your heart knocking, asking for you and I to share life together  in both words and experience. Look unto Jesus as the physical expression of My words, “I love you.”

Every generation has those who have heard Me speak and given their hearts to Me. These have the privilege to let the next generation know that I am God. I am already speaking  and whispering asking them to open wide their hearts that they may know Me. Speak, listen, hear and  know that I am God, your Father.
