When I said, “My foot slips,” Your mercy, O Lord, held me up. When there is a multitude of worries within me, Your comforts delight my soul. Psalm 94:18-19 MEV
When you feel unstable, feel the strength of My hands supporting you. My child, life for you can easily feel as though you have stepped on to the ice skating rink for the first time again and again. It hurts to fall and the frustration mounts that you have little control.
One common “slip” happens when you think I am too slow to bring justice to the wicked. They have wronged others or spitefully mistreated you and they seem to get away with their plan. Oh, the prayers and cries that I hear for Me to “go and get those guys!” As hard as it is, remember that I prefer mercy over justice, but both were met at the cross of My Son.
A more subtle slip happens when bad things occur to good or even bad people. You pray for the healing of a loved one from a disease and they don’t recover. I know this hurts you so much. Insults are hurled in My direction, “how can I really be good and let things like this happen?” I don’t like death or disease, they were not part of My plan. Yet, I still work the long game for you. My commitment to you child is to not harm you, but to give you a hope and a future.
This slip may affect you personally. Perhaps you are struggling with an ongoing health or financial struggle that appears to have no end. You have confessed, prayed, been prayed for, and even bargained with Me. Yet, your situation seems unmoved. It is little comfort in the middle of your crisis to remember that My ways and thoughts are not like your ways, but it is the starting point to gain access to My abiding love and presence. I draw closer to the broken hearted.
My child, when you slip because of your own sinful choices, it hurts Me that you think your only alternative is to run and hide. Your falling again and again does not make you any less My child. I was with you before, during and after your act of choosing your own way. To stay fallen is to reject My forgiveness. My love may seem unfathomable, but that does not stop you from receiving it from Me.
What you say when you feel like you are slipping or have even slipped already, can help you get back up. However, when you allow Me to join in your conversation, your rise to your feet will be much quicker. I am for you. I love you. I will never leave you nor forsake you.
Life hurts, but through My Son, Jesus, you have the ability to experience the abundance of joy in this world and have it to the full. I heard your “oops”, I’m still here.
