Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6
The exclusivity of Christianity is not about being a better person than anyone else. It stems from Jesus’ answer to Thomas, “Lord, we do not know where you are going, so how can we know the way”? Jesus’ response limits the access to God to Him alone.
There is no other way to God, the Father, except through Jesus. That statement should make Christians and unbelievers very unsettled.
If you are a follower of Christ, then it becomes mission number one, to be a witness of sharing the good news about Jesus to others. How will they hear about the way to connect with God through Jesus, if a believer does not tell them? God’s plan is for changed people sharing with others the good news of salvation with those who still have not believed. God’s plan for telling other people about Jesus still uses a man, woman, or child.
It’s not a hard question to ask or evaluate. Who have you shared the good news with? How are you engaged in helping spread the news of Jesus to others?
If you are an unbeliever, you should feel the weight of the futility of trying to connect with God by every other path that doesn’t go through Jesus. No other religion deals with sin which puts the responsibility on someone else to take its punishment. Jesus died in our place for the penalty that we deserve so that we can become children of God
To reject Jesus now, on earth, has eternal consequences of being separated from everything good and holy found in God. Eternity has no U-turns. God honors the words we speak from our heart. We either receive Jesus or reject Him.
Some are still rejecting God, because they want to find another way. They say, “Why should we have to be accountable to God for our actions”? Just because you think that God does not exist, or Jesus is not the only way, does not make you free.
There is a gnawing in your heart, there will be a day of accountability that all, including you, will have to answer to Jesus. One day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord.
Meditate on John 14:6 today. Praise God for the hope that is found in Jesus. He showed the way to the Father and He is the way to the Father. May you enjoy Him today through the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit. And may you have the privilege to share Jesus with another.
Blessings Love y’all
