Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever. They will have no fear of bad news;  their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord. Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear;  in the end they will look in triumph on their foes. Psalm 112:6-8 NIV

Secure Hearts – Another Whisper

Once when My Son was in the boat with His friends, He fell fast asleep from exhaustion and even a storm did not wake Him up. But His friends became so afraid they woke Him up to save them. Even with Him in the boat, it did not stop them from becoming fearful.

I am not surprised that you become afraid. Neither am I ignorant to what causes you fear. There are enough known fears to unsettle your nerves, not to mention possible mishaps awaiting you in the future. So, how do you overcome these fears?

Direct your trust toward Me. Stop battling your fears. Stop trying to control the situation. Take your eyes to a heavenly plane. Your fears will fall away like the booster rocket jetting itself from  the main payload. Its purpose does not exist in the heights.

Start by conversing with Me. Bring Me into your pain, your fear. I will not laugh at what is troubling your soul. Whether the fear is real or part of your vivid imagination pitting you into the worst scenario, My peace is available to you.

If you have sinned and are afraid of the consequences, forgiveness is yours and My presence remains. If you are afraid of an unknown future, I will keep in step with you along the way. If fear is coming from your enemy, He cannot remain in the praise of My presence, at least as it concerns My strength undergirding your heart and mind. If death is staring you in the face, I have the final word and not death, it is ‘life evermore’.

You were not created to resemble a leaf shaking in the wind. Hold My hand to feel the security of the warmth of My love, I am here. Stand firm on the Rock of My promises which never fail. Focus your eyes on the author and finisher of your faith. And open the ears of your heart to hear My whisper. “Be still, little child, I am and always will be with you.”
