5th text to my wife and daughters-in-love…She is clothed with strength and dignity. Prov. 31:25. Definition of dignity – the quality of being worthy of honor and respect or a sense of pride in oneself. It easy to look at our frailty and short-comings. It is far too common to compare our perceived weakness aligned with someone else’s strength. But through Jesus you will not be in lack of any good thing. You are and always will be valuable. You are beautiful. You have unique talents. And you are loved. Hold your head high and tell your enemy. “I am a daughter of The Most High God. He thinks I am wonderfully made.” Have a great day. Love y’all. July 28th, 2018
I put on a shirt and hurried out of the door to meet a friend for lunch. The waitress was attentive, but I noticed that she kept giggling with the other girls and pointing to our table. Finally she had enough courage to approach me and inform me that my Alabama logo shirt was put on inside out. She was right. Oops too late now. She thought I would go to the bathroom and change it…
One look in a mirror makes a big difference. The Bible is our mirror for the righteous character qualities we should adorn our lives with. James 1:21 in the context of looking in a mirror states this, “Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.” There is an expectation that some evil actions should never be a part of our lives, rather we should clothe ourselves with love, patience, kindness, joy, righteousness and many more.
In today’s verse we see the Proverbs 31 woman is mentioned as being clothed with strength and dignity. To have strength is to have the energy and ability to complete a task. May God’s power and presence help each one of us to channel our strength to complete those tasks which are both important and necessary in our homes and other areas of our lives.
Dignity comes from the outflow of no compromise on holy convictions. When your actions of righteousness align with knowledge of doing what is right in both the little situations and the big moments, you can posses the prize of dignity. Dignity says “No” gracefully.
Praying for you as you go to church today. Last week, the Holy Spirit whispered to me as I was attending a church in Corinth, “Listen”. There was indeed scriptures throughout the sermon which gave strength to my inner man. May you be blessed to hear a word from God this morning which awakens your heart to joy.
BTW – I did not change the shirt. I was bold and then went home.
Blessings Love y’all
