The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, “Hosanna[b] to the Son of David!”“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna[d] in the highest heaven!” When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?” The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.” Matthew 22:9-11 NIV
“Who is this? ”Asking good questions is an art that can be tweaked and practiced. Finding the right answers is more than SIRI can handle. Someone once said there are no right answers to wrong questions. True that.
There is a third step that is as important as the first two of asking and finding…acting on the answer instead of just possessing the knowledge. For instance, knowing the right way to open a can of beans and actually opening it are two different things. We have so much “how to” knowledge, but lower on the implementation. Most know how to schedule exercise for our bodies…but, we fail to execute the plans. Oops, gone from teaching to meddling.
Back to our verse for today. Great question on Palm Sunday, “Who is this?” They got the answer right, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee.” Now for the third step, “So what difference does that make in how you live?”
Knowing that Jesus died for your sins is not the same as asking Him to forgive you of your sins. Knowing that your sins are truly ALL forgiven, should allow you to live daily with NO shame. Knowing that His is Lord of your life, should change the direction of how you spend your money and your time. Knowledge about how you answer the question of who is Jesus for you, should impact every other relationship and decision that you will make for the rest of your life. To Jesus be all the glory and honor.
Happy Palm Sunday – I hope you spend some time contemplating how you really answer the question. “Who is this?” Jesus the name above all names.
Blessings
Love y’all
