Wisdom From Above

But the wisdom from above is first of all pure, then peace-loving, gentle, accommodating, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial, and sincere. James 3:17 NIV

Need some Wisdom for decisions, finances, relationships? King Solomon instructed his son to add understanding to wisdom. Wisdom is more than an encyclopedia of knowledge carried around in your head. It is the application of right decision-making that honors God and others…all the time. Following the leading of the Holy Spirit will always lead to wisdom for every occasion. But sometimes we need a little more help to qualify what the wisdom choice looks like. Hopefully, the next few blogs unpacking James 3:17 will help you identify how to implement wisdom’s influence in your life.

The Wisdom from above – Children learn wisdom first from God’s laws governing our living. Hot things burn, everybody has to sleep to become refreshed, gravity makes things fall down, you have to stay above the water to breathe. These are all wisdom principles we teach our children, but these started from above. God placed these principles in our world to create order for our lives.

To grow in God’s wisdom, requires growing in faith. It is exercising your faith muscle to trust God’s heavenly principles that work in the same way as gravity. Sowing is an act of faith as the farmer believes it will produce a harvest. Trusting God with your finances in giving, is an act of faith that God will protect your financial harvest here on earth and for the treasures being stored in heaven.

When you pray for wisdom concerning a situation or relationship, the answer has its origin in heaven. God freely gives wisdom to those who ask. When we look heavenward in faith, we are showing that we believe God is interested in our problem and the solution. Faith reveals we are hungry for an answer that God will provide, as opposed to trying to figure it out on your own.

Always see wisdom as a family fact. 1+1=2 is a fact family. All the numbers and symbols stay together. That phrase is seen as a whole. When you see 1 and 1 your mind knows that 2 is next because it is all part of the family fact. SO also Wisdom has a family fact. Wisdom is from above. Store the picture in your mind, so we you need wisdom, your first step is to look from above.

When you see wisdom, you automatically know it originates from God, not you. And God does not want to withhold wisdom, but gives it freely, abundantly, lavishly, to those who are looking to Him for it.

Ask God today, to strengthen you faith muscle. Look heavenward, if that will help. Give Him thanks when you by faith start acting upon the wisdom that He shares for your next steps. His ways have influence over every arena of your life. Taste and see that the Lord is good and so is His wisdom.
