“Your life is written with invisible ink”, was the image that I received last night at church during our prophetic ministry time. Was this message for me, for someone else or possibly for many people in the room? I asked the Lord for more insight in order to know if it should be shared publicly.

More thoughts came to my mind regarding the image. There is a new children’s marker from Crayola called a “Mess Free Marker”.  It’s coloring properties only work on the specially designed coloring sheets. It will not write on the skin, furniture, walls or carpet – a parent’s dream come true. We bought some of these markers for our grands last Christmas.

As I engaged God regarding these markers, I felt Him say that too many times we choose our own set of markers to try to color the pages of our lives. We do not get the same results as we do with the special markers. It’s not a matter of effort or good intentions. Using the wrong markers will never produce the results that God has in store for our lives.

So God, what is the right marker to use? FAITH revealed through trust. I knew that God was inviting us to use the Faith marker that He has provided to fill in the colors of the invisible ink over our lives. I could feel the tension that each of us feel – do it our way or God’s way of trust. Most every believer wants to trust God. We also want to have a knowledge of the outcome beforehand…which is not part of the definition of faith.

Like the marker revealing colorful changes on our page, we are not exactly sure how faith works. But it does. The Bible is full of people who stepped forward toward Jesus in faith and received from Him. The woman touching His robe and  the blind man crying for mercy are situations to encourage us to take a step toward God in faith.

Take the issue that is facing you today and ask for help from God to apply your faith. It normally starts with just a small step of obedience. He has already spoken to your spirit about the next step to take, Now act on that impression. (you have already qualified the impression as aligning with Biblical norms), Allow the Holy Spirit to lead you…follow Him with your “mess free faith marker”. Your invisible life page will come springing forth into full Technicolor.
