Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them. And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:29-30.
Some of you may think that I am stoic in My interactions with you. You percieve Me to be like a statue that is always watching but having limited ability to engage. This is not, nor has it ever been true of My dealings with mankind. I express love continually and experience sorrow when My ways are rejected.
So much of your divisiveness occurs with the words that are spoken toward one another. Before you were My child, you had a limited filter for the use of language based solely on your cultural context. Your words reflected the speech of your parents, family and close friends. Even the tv shows and popular songs gave you the vocabulary that you thought was acceptable.
Name calling, attributing judgmental slurs, foul and abusive language is now unbecoming to you My child. My words are life and light. Better to be silent and thoughtful about the words that you speak, than speaking rashly. When words are many, sin is not far off.
Choose to speak life. Let others hear how much you believe in their abilities. May you express love often. Watch how your words can build and grow a relationship into one that is strong and healthy.
Words can bring unity or division. Like going to a party when no one wants you there, is the way that I feel when you choose to speak ill of one another in My presence. Observe the media that you choose to listen to or watch. Consider how different it would sound if people chose to speak well of one another. Hatred, anger, and selfishness parade your airways and printed media.
Repent and choose life. I will lead and prompt you in the way that you should go. Don’t settle for less. Your words can change as you spend time with Me. I do have that type of influence.
