29 So then, welcome him (Epaphroditus) in the Lord with great joy, and honor people like him, 30 because he almost died for the work of Christ. He risked his life to make up for the help you yourselves could not give me. Philippians 2:29-30 NIV
Tis no small thing to attribute honor
Especially for those servants of Christ
Who’ve left behind riches and fame
Endured suffering and risk of life
They are not pursuing the attention
Nor are they wanting all the credit
Acknowledgement has its own importance
You will be glad that you said it
You are not using words to puff up
When you decide to give them praise
Don’t worry about perfect wording
A grateful heart will find the phrase
Find a way to express appreciation
It can be in a speech or just a note
It brings warmth to their heart
Your words they will often quote
What if you feel that no one has noticed
All of the sacrifices that you have made
Keep attributing honor to others who need it
You’re storing up treasures that will never fade
There is one phrase that we long to hear
When the battle of this life is won
From Jesus lips they will appear
“My faithful servant, well done”
