You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die.8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:6-8 NIV
God picked a flower and said to Adam,
Let’s play “He loves me, He loves me not”
Adam started with the first petal
“He loves me” pronounced right on the spot
God’s turn was next, a petal to take
“He loves Me not” never skipping a beat
That’s not fair for heaven’s sake
God’s done nothing to deserve that seat
Even after I disobeyed in the garden
Adam grabbed next and said with glee
Though my heart had started to harden
He still repeats that “He loves me.”
“He loves Me not”, all will say
I’ll send My son from above
Though they reject and kill him
They’ll see my commitment to love
“He loves me”, I don’t understand
I have nothing good in me to give
Even my worst, doesn’t change His plan
Jesus died in my place, so I may live
Jesus took the next petal on the flower
“He loves Me not, rejected and shamed
Please, Father, be glorified in this hour
Sacrificial love had finally been named
Only one petal left for Adam to choose
The message would be undeniable
“He love me!” is the greatest of news
His faithfulness is totally reliable
God is the loser it seems to be
All the bad has fallen His way
Choose the petal, “He loves me”
Always true, day after day after day
Love only finds a way to give
It never seeks its on pleasure
Follow God’s love, it’s how to live
Grace given to us beyond measure
