Restore us, O God; make your face shine on us, that we may be saved. How long, Lord God Almighty, will your anger smolder against the prayers of your people?  Psalm 80:3-4 NIV

There appears to be little comfort when you are walking in valleys. The depth of the valley makes the hills on both sides look larger than life, Whether you walked into the valley by your own selfish ways, were kicked into it by traumatic life experiences, were left there betrayed by broken promises or feel abandoned by Me as a result of discipline; I am still with you.

You communicate your feelings amongst yourselves with emojis, using one picture to express your reaction. Some only see Me with an angry face, just waiting to bop you on the head when you step out of line. My ways and thoughts are not like your ways. I am not fickle or swaying back and forth with emotional highs and lows.

As a Father, I am holy, just, good, and loving all at the same time. My holiness can never tolerate the presence of sin which kindles My anger. My justice declares that all unrighteous will receive its full payment for guilt. All will be treated fairly. My goodness is the foundation of My throne in which My Son made provision for sin. My love is on display in the resurrection of Jesus showing the full atonement for your sin. The life, death, burial and resurrection reveals My holiness, justice, goodness and love for you.

Discipline and anger may look the same from the start. Love is revealed as the father pinpoints the reason for the discipline. Some attitudes are unbecoming for you. Discipline allows for change and growth in those areas of your life. Anger is reserved for punishment against those who are not My children, resisting the love of My Son.

Look at Me, My child. I hear your sobs and see your tears while praying. My face is always turned toward you, My child. I am walking step by step with you in this valley. Not for one moment will I leave you alone in that desolate place. Though the next step that you have to make is painful, I will take it with you. Though you can not see the way out, I will guide you. Though the light has faded and darkness seems thick, the words of My mouth will light the way for you.

Surely goodness and mercy will follow us, as we travel this path together. You desire that My face and favor should shine upon you and that is good. I also want you to see your face looking toward Me. As My child you are special to Me. Just saying.

Whispers from Your Father, God
