Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
When things don’t turn out as planned?
Life has many twists and turns. Jimbob was upset that things were not working out as planned. We have all had days that started out in a good direction and then car problems, people conflict, work gets out of sync, unexpected bills come in, friends remain sick, or your health report got worse. It’s even tougher when you think you have to walk this alone.
Notice the development of the verse for today. There are 2 negative emotions and 5 “I” statements to help recalibrate during the tough times. These difficulties are real and have an intended end to make the worse of it.
Fear and anxiety are quick to show up when our schedules are interrupted. How many times have you heard someone speak a ton of negative words when trouble appears. Car will not start – “It’s totally broken and I have to buy a new one”. Can’t pay a bill – “I’ll never make enough, I guess I’ll have to file bankruptcy. Your friend is in the hospital – “She is so sick, she probably will not make it”. Listen and watch how your words will increase anxiety and fear during crisis. It is important what you say
Be not dismayed. This is the spiral tube of wandering into hopelessness. Problems can become so compounded that we are unable to see hopeful solutions.
The Good news
“I am with “ When you are walking through the valley of your trials, it makes all the difference knowing that God is with you always. Even if the valley is of you own making, God is there. If something bad happened to you, God is there. He promised to never leave you nor forsake you
“I am your God” This is the one conditional statement. Have you made God you Lord and life? Have you made a decision to follow Him with your heart? When you receive HIm you become His child. He remains your Father, God through all that you are experiencing
“I will strengthen you” This is where it gets even better. Receive the power and presence of God. It starts with peace, moves to hope and finds rest in love. God keeps his promises and He will give you the motivation to keep moving forward to find your answers
“I will help you” God’s ways are not like our ways. We have to experience His revelation to see which direction to go when life isn’t working out. He provided a ram for Abraham. He has the ability to help the situation. Look to Jesus the author and finisher of your faith.
“I will hold you up” When you need a shoulder to cry on, you may find yourself being “held”. God knows our frailties and draws close to the broken hearted. Perhaps you need to dump all your struggles upon Him, He can handle them and still hold on to you tightly
When life is throwing you curveballs and you are swinging and missing, remember Isaiah 41:10. Move beyond the negative emotions and settle in to the “I am’s” and the “I will”s”. Keep moving in God’s direction, He is already walking with you.
Blessings Love y’all
