Fear of the LORD is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. Proverbs 1:7 NLT
Some students have already started their first day back after the summer. Today is our first day for the new school year. I offer this poem for thought. Actually, I waited to complete the first bus run to finish my writing for the day.
Just back from the first run.
First Day of School I’m waiting, holding my mom’s hand It’s my first day of school This is all part of the plan Riding the bus will be cool My shoes are bright and clean My clothes make me look good I think I’m bigger than I seem I stand straight like I should The Bus is yellow and big Around the corner, I see it My inside is doing a jig Mom tells me I have to sit That first step is a big one The driver says “good morning” to me Which seat do I sit in? By the window, so I can see The bus driver tells me to have a good day I see my teacher waving at the bus For me, It will be as good as they say Why was mom worried about us?
Please don’t be so busy to miss the importance of first experiences. Your words of encouragement frame the focus for the impact of the day. Pause to reflect on the wisest choice of your words. They have the power of life and death.
Blessings Love y’all
