For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this. Isaiah 9:6-7 ESV
Sometimes, the Lord allows us to pray a “rhema” word to speak into our moments. It is not necessarily a new thought, but it is the right word for the now that you are walking through. God’s word brings order out of chaos, just like at creation. As you are “going through stuff” which may feel like chaos, let this word bring comfort to your heart.
Pam and I are in the middle of backpack season. Yesterday, was the apex of our efforts with 3 distributions happening at the sametime and over 200 backpacks being pre-packed at the mall. We have been purchasing and sorting, purchasing and sorting, purchasing and sorting. God has been supplying the monetary resources and donations to meet the needs, but the task can feel overwhelming.
So, yesterday when Pam asked me to pray with one of our site coordinators, I prayed the following.
“Thank you Jesus, that you are the prince of peace. There is none higher, nor is anything above you. You rule with peace over all. Of the increase of your government and peace there will be no end. Jesus – TODAY – your peace is increasing over all the ministry work we will be doing. Nothing can stop your peace from expanding. We receive your peace over our efforts to share with those who are in need. Peace over the volunteers and peace over the families who will attend. You are and always will be the prince of peace. In Jesus name, amen.”
The words which gave comfort for us were peace, governing rule and increase. Jesus tells us that His peace is not like the world expects. It is the deeper work settling over the heart and mind. His kingdom is at hand, which is constantly impacting the world in which we live which He is governing . Increase means his peace is ever growing and expanding.
May you let the prince of peace, Jesus, be welcomed in your life. Let Him be who He is. May you let Him navigate you through the chaos of your day. He is the Prince of Peace.
Am i, I AM Living in the Peace of Jesus’ Government
Blessings Love y’all
