I spent yesterday (Jan 1, 2026) traveling in a car with Pastor Abb Javine and Jeff Thomas on a prayer drive to Washington DC. This year marks the beginning of 250 years from the founding of the USA. We spent the day praying in and over our capital.

While we were driving and praying, we discussed God’s plan and purposes for our lives. Jeff Thomas felt like God was going to give us a business plan structure for money making and ministry. The old adage came to mind – Plan your work and Work your plan.

Today’s verse I think can help clarify “What God’s sayin’” in your life. Let’s break it down.

Habakkuk 2:1-3   I will stand at my watch  and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me,  and what answer I am to give to this complaint. 2 Then the Lord replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. 3 For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end  and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.

Verse 1 is the completion of Habakkuk’s complaints from the first chapter. To him, violence and injustice are  happening everywhere and God has not moved to stop or address it. What is God sayin? It appears He is silent. Can anybody relate? Where are you God? And why are you not moving? Why is it taking so long for you to do something about this situation?

Verse 2 is God’s reply, which gives us some insight to discern what He is saying. Grab your pen and paper….God says to write it down. Don’t just think about it….don’t just pray about it…write it down.

What shall you write? The revelation or vision. As best as you can, write what you believe God is speaking to you. Ask your question or express your complaint and THEN write what you perceive God is speaking in response to your question.

For example, perhaps you  and your spouse have been busy with life and you feel like you are traveling parallel lives, but not with intimacy and togetherness. Ask God, “How do you want me to pray for my spouse? Is there something I need to start doing or stop doing to align with your plans for our lives?” Then write your response to those questions. Your answers are the vision or revelation that God is speaking. If they all line up with God’s expressed principles, begin to implement the action steps of faith He shared with you. In other words, if you think you hear that you are to hurt the other person…that’s not His voice.

The second half of verse 2, instructs us further about discerning what God is saying. Write it down so a herald may run with it. Write it plainly. Write it clearly and succinctly. Rephrase it so that someone else can communicate what you have received. If it is confusing to them…you need to hone the vision. 1+1=2 so does 8-4+3-5=2, but the first model gets you there quicker.  Visions, revelations need clarity to communicate them. The also helps to know that you are staying on task carrying out the vision.

Verse 3 tells us the role of patience in waiting to receive the revelation of what God is saying’.God is not a vending machine with a push button and out pop’s your answer. All the ingredients for a stew can be eaten separately. But the aroma of a slow cooked stew is worth the wait to taste . Let your hunger and desperation stay focused on the awareness of God’s presence.

What’s God sayin’ about your personal life issues? Bring your thoughts, your complaints, your questions, your uncertainties and WRITE down what you feel God is saying. You will be amazed at the clarity of all that God is sayin’.

Blessing Love y’all
