When Leaders Lead – Give Thanks

The prophetess Deborah begins her song with thanksgiving to the Lord. They had just won a decisive and great victory, but her thanks was not about the victory. She recognized that leaders were leading and people made themselves available and actionable to the Lord. In word and deed they showed up ready to fight.

This is a simple prayer for today. May leaders LEAD and may the people WILLINGLY follow.

Let’s break it down focusing on spiritual leaders and followers

  • Leaders see what needs to happen next even if others don’t see it at all
  • Leaders have been called by God and recognized by others
  • Leaders have a gathering gift
  • Leaders carry weighted speech – its the reason they have to be careful what they say
  • Leaders are humbled by the task they have been assigned
  • Leaders are unfulfilled until they are leading others
  • Leaders shine the best when others offer themselves to follow willingly
  • Followers follow best when the are thankful and not complaining
  • Followers accomplish the task, even if the leader gets the credit
  • Followers are responsible for their own spirit of expectation for good to come
  • Followers carry the highest value of self sacrifice
  • Followers wear the tag – the least shall be the greatest

Pray for our leaders to lead. Righteousness exalts a nation. When our leaders lead and judge righteously, people follow willingly. When the people who are following choose to do justly, love mercy and walk humbly with God…the nation prospers.

Pray for your pastor to lead, pray for mayors to lead, pray for our president to lead, pray for leaders to lead within the value system of honoring and obeying God commands. Let leaders not become discouraged in leading righteously…for in due season they will reap.

May the followers treat one another kindly, not judging, not abusing, not taking disadvantage, and not oppressing. Speak life or remain silent. May followers give thanks when leaders lead.

Blessings Love Y’all
