
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1 NIV
Joy is one of the distinguishing marks of followers of Jesus. Why? There is a freedom from our sin, our past, and our failures that only comes through a relationship with Jesus. When you are free, you can’t stop sharing how your life was changed.

Notice the joy of those whose lives were touched by Jesus to free them from the shame of their past.
- The woman at the well went back to her town tell all about Jesus, He knew all of her broken past. John 4.
- The boldness of the man born blind who received his sight – He said to the religious leaders, “Do you also want to be His followers? – All I know is that once I was blind, but now I see.” John 15
- The man set free from demons in Gadarene was immediately healed, clothed and reasoning in a right mind. He went about sharing his freedom throughout the region. He was not ashamed of his past…the joy of his freedom superseded the embarrassment and shame. Luke 8:39
- Zaccheaus changed from greediness to a giver after spending time with Jesus. Matthew 19.
There was a before and an after in behavior and emotions after their encounter with Jesus. He desires for us to move into more and more freedom in every area of our lives.

On this Monday Mantra, take a moment to fully appreciate all that the Lord has done in your life. make a list to give thanks to God and while you are at it…share your joy with others.
