But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8 NIV.
The greek verb for “will be” is esesthe and is a Future Indicative Middle voice. Too much grammar, but it is important. The future continuous action of the verb is used to express duration or repetition in the future. The middle voice means the subject supplies the action, like saying I, Myself. So with this brief greek lesson, watch how it impacts the meaning of this verse. “, and you will take it upon yourself to continually and repeatedly – witness”.
Will you join Pam and I in a goal for this year…”Each week take at least 1 opportunity to present the whole presentation of the gospel in which someone may place their trust in Jesus.” This will require the Holy Spirit leading us into the ripe harvest in which he says it is plentiful. Don’t know yet if any will be saved, but the chances increase greatly when we are sharing the good news. Be watching and waiting, the Spirit will make the opportunities happen, of that I am sure.
Blessings. Love y’all
