th (39)I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead. Philippians 3:10-11 NIV

To know, or not to know, that is the question

Tis a noble thought to want to know His power

Christ within me, is such a wonder to consider

To be sure, tis the greatest need of this very hour

To know, or not to know, that is the question

Resurrection life flowing through my veins

What a glorious present to us is given

Dependence to His Spirit, must be maintained

To know, or not to know, that is the question

Not suffering or death would be my choice

Who would choose a path of stench

Live like Jesus shall be shouted from my voice

He was shamed, beaten, and ridiculed

Crucified naked, He hung on a tree

Mocked, scorned, bleeding, He died

None of this I would choose for me

Resurrection power is preceded by death

Both, are symbiotically intimately meshed

To know one is to know the other

They each require a sentence of death to the flesh

To know, or not to know, that is the question

Take me Lord, I’ll follow wherever you may go

I trust the path that you have taken

Suffering, death, and power, I choose to know
